About maintool

maintool is a free QR code generator built for people who care about privacy, clarity, and getting work done without accounts or subscriptions. QR codes are useful everywhere — shop windows, business cards, restaurant tables, event badges, and packaging — and creating one should not require uploading sensitive details to a remote server.

Unlike many online tools, maintool does not upload your URLs, WiFi passwords, phone numbers, or contact fields to generate a code. Generation runs with client-side JavaScript in your browser. That design choice is the core of the product.

Our mission

We want a simple, trustworthy place to create static QR codes quickly. The tools cover everyday formats — website URLs, WiFi, WhatsApp, phone, email, SMS, location, social profiles, Google Maps, reviews, events, PDF, restaurant menus, vCards — plus plain link builders for WhatsApp, Google reviews, and UTM campaigns. Downloads are available as PNG, SVG, and PDF for screens or print.

Independence

maintool is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google, WhatsApp, Meta, Apple, or other third-party brands mentioned only to describe compatible QR formats. Brand names are used for identification.

What maintool is not

maintool creates static QR codes. We do not offer scan analytics, dynamic redirect management, or short-link tracking. If you need per-scan statistics, you would use a dedicated dynamic QR platform. Our focus stays on private, offline-capable generation of the code image itself.

Ads and analytics

To keep the tool free, we may show advertising through Google AdSense after the site is approved. We also use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (for example, which pages are visited). Analytics do not include the text of your QR form fields. Who maintool is for

maintool is built for people who need a working QR today — café owners updating a menu URL, hosts sharing guest WiFi, freelancers putting a vCard on a business card, and marketers printing review or campaign links. If you need enterprise scan dashboards or editable short links, a dynamic QR platform is a better fit. If you want a private static image without an account, you are in the right place.

How we approach content

Tool pages and guides explain real workflows: when to choose a format, how to generate it in the browser, how to print so phones can scan, and how to troubleshoot failures. We write original copy for each major use case instead of duplicating the same thin blurb across dozens of near-identical pages. Brand names appear only to identify compatible formats (for example WhatsApp chat links or Google review URLs).
