Last updated: August 31, 2026. maintool (“we”, “our”) operates this website. This policy explains what information is processed when you use our site, including cookies and third-party services used for analytics and advertising. By using the site, you acknowledge this policy.

Who we are

maintool is an independent free QR code generator. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of Google LLC, Meta, Apple, or WhatsApp, except that we may use Google products (Analytics, AdSense) as described below.

QR code data (not uploaded)

QR codes are generated entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The content you enter (URLs, WiFi credentials, phone numbers, contact details, logos) is not transmitted to our servers for QR generation. We do not use that form content for advertising profiles.

Local storage

If you use recent history, entries are saved in your browser’s localStorage on your device. We cannot read this data from our servers. You can clear it with the “Clear history” control or by clearing site data in your browser.

Cookies and similar technologies

Like most websites, we and our partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies to operate the site, measure traffic, and (when ads are enabled) serve and personalize advertisements. These technologies may collect information such as IP address, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and how you interact with the site or ads.

Third parties (including Google) may place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving and analytics on this site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-TM2YYZP9C2) and Vercel Analytics for aggregate usage metrics (page views, device category, country/region, and engagement events such as QR type generated or download format). Event parameters do not include the text of your QR form fields. IP anonymization is enabled where supported.

Google’s processing is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-5570650174796895) to display ads and help keep maintool free. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on visits to this and other sites (interest-based advertising), subject to your consent choices where required by law.

We aim to place ads in a way that does not obscure content or navigation and that keeps publisher content primary on each page (Better Ads Standards). Ads are not shown on empty or under-construction screens.

Personal data we do not sell

We do not sell your personal information. We do not intentionally send Google personally identifiable information from QR forms (such as names, emails, or WiFi passwords you type into the generator).

Children (COPPA)

maintool is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through contact email, contact us and we will delete it where applicable.

International visitors & consent

If you access the site from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Google may require consent for certain cookies and personalized ads under applicable law (including the EU User Consent Policy). Where we enable Google’s Privacy & messaging / certified consent tools, those messages will present your choices. You can also use browser controls to block cookies.

  • Use Google Ads Settings or industry opt-outs for interest-based ads.
  • Use the Analytics opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
